Watched the first two episodes — art was nice but isn’t enough to grab me; let’s not mistake animation and art, guys. I do like the coloring, and Kirino (the little sister) is consistently well animated (unlike the rest) and well dressed so if you like girl’s fashion I guess that’s a bonus [1]. Listening to a most choice podcast about Starcraft II, State of the Game lead by JP, they not only reminded me of some interesting changes in the professional gaming industry but brought up some interesting insight into the expectations of the fanbase.
For those who don’t follow the Starcraft II pro-gaming scene, there is large ($160K) tournament run by GOMtv going on currently and equally large hubbub concerning the live streaming and VOD (video-on-demand) pricing scheme used. Currently priced at $20 for live and $30 for VODs, a large portion of the community erupted in anger having to pay for tournament content. Continue reading
