Seeing this post, I realized that listens per day might be a better metric, and went about rewriting a mIRC addon for iTunes I was using to output this data.
Unfortunately I was predicting a switch to foobar2000 or Songbird in the near future, so the addon is still in beta and is not 100% functional (although it does the bare minimum of outputting the song, artist, total listens, LPD, etc.). A more in-depth discussion after the jump. (more…)
I guess in retrospect something like this would be inevitable, especially with a cast full of (more than) capable singers. Spoilers after the jump.
I didn’t catch this until I saw some screen captures, but the music piece in the background here is Beethoven’s Fur Elise.

Figure 1.0: Quite a bit of attention to detail.
I was surprised that they went through the trouble of putting in an actual score, although I guess with the shift to digital rendering of anime, this probably wasn’t too hard.
One thing I’d like to see in this anime is more piano pieces – since they seem to portray Haruka as more or less a virtuoso, I thought we’d get to hear more classical music.
Edit: The scene is from episode 3, around 27 seconds in.
Watching Lovely Idol’s first episode was a pretty silly experience, considering the show is geared towards pedos and young girls, but Nogawa Sakura’s beautiful song in the middle of the episode was quite worth it. (more…)
This time its a song from the erogame Konboku (Konna Ko ga Itara Boku wa mou…!!)
This song is really upbeat, and has several transitions in the short 2 minutes, that just makes it seem even shorter… I really need to find the full version ^^;
Also, i have no idea what she’s singing in the very beginning… is that Engrish? >_>
Btw, catching the cold sucks >_> I don’t have much coughing/nasal congestion but my head hurts like hell… which is extremely aggravating since I rarely get headaches, not something I’m used to. =(
I like jpop a lot for some reason; maybe its because I don’t understand 80% of it, so trite lyrics can’t offend me. Or maybe its because the I’ve girls are so awesome. I don’t know.
But I’m planning on doing a weekly post on Japanese songs I’ve listened to (both new and old) and thought were really good.
Since h-game songs probably get a lot less listener penetration, I thought I’d start off with one I found purely by accident, during a music downlo acquisition spree.
This was a nice slow and sweet song that made me realize I should diversify outside of just anisongs and the I’ve releases.
TsuyoKiss ED – open – short
More to come this weekend when I actually have time to sit down and write what I liked about the songs.
Saturday May 27th, 2006. Anime North. Doubletree Hotel Ballroom. KOTOKO live <3.
Well, I guess I’ll start from the top… the space in the concert hall was very limited so they required AN con-goers to pick up a special ticket to get into the concert. My god were we lucky… when we arrived in the morning there were only 5 tickets left, and luck just so had it that there were 5 of us in total. Talk about close calls.
